BRS Slams Congress for Failing Telangana, Says People Will Never Forget the Betrayal
Hyderabad, July 4 (Maxim News): The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has strongly criticized the Congress party, saying that the people of Telangana will never forget the lies and betrayal they have faced since Congress came to power in the state.
The BRS extended a sarcastic “welcome” to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who is visiting Telangana after more than a year. The party said Kharge and other senior Congress leaders had made big promises before the elections but failed to deliver once in power.
Congress Made Big Promises, Delivered Nothing: BRS
BRS pointed out that in 2022 and 2023, top Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Kharge made several declarations including:
- ₹15,000 per acre financial help to farmers (Rythu Bharosa)
- ₹2,500 monthly aid to women under Mahalakshmi scheme
- ₹4,000 per month unemployment allowance
- Free gas cylinder at ₹500
- 200 units of free electricity to households (Gruha Jyoti)
- ₹4,000 pension for senior citizens, widows, and others (Cheyutha)
- ₹10 lakh health insurance and ₹5 lakh education insurance
- Houses worth ₹5 lakh for the poor (Indiramma Indlu)
- 2 lakh jobs every year and filling of pending government posts
The BRS alleged that none of these schemes have been fully implemented, despite Congress forming the government with these promises. The party said that 420 promises were made, but the people have been left waiting.
BRS Questions Congress Leadership
The BRS also questioned Rahul Gandhi, who often talks about democracy and the Constitution in his speeches across the country. “Why is he silent about the promises made in Telangana? Why is the Congress government failing to deliver on them?” BRS asked.
The party said that Kharge’s visit to Telangana should be a reminder of all the unfulfilled promises. “Even if Congress forgets its own words, the people of Telangana will never forget how they were fooled,” the statement read.
BRS Vows to Stand by Telangana People
The BRS made it clear that it will continue to stand with the people and demand that Congress delivers on what it promised. “We won’t let the government forget. The people trusted you. Now it’s time to fulfill that trust,” the party said.
