Srinagar/Hyderabad, April 20 (Maxim News): A bus overturned on the Ramnagar-Udhampur National Highway near Kagort in Jammu and Kashmir. 15 passengers were killed in the accident. Many were seriously injured. Locals immediately responded and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. They were shifted to Udhampur Medical College Hospital for better medical treatment. Doctors said that the condition of many of them is critical. On receiving information about the accident, senior district officials reached the spot and took up rescue operations.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the main reason for the accident was the bus driver losing control due to speeding. The accident took place on Monday while the bus was going from Ramnagar to Udhampur. Local MP and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh personally spoke to the top officials of Udhampur district over the phone regarding the accident. He inquired about the accident. He ordered that the injured be provided with better medical treatment. He clarified that an air ambulance should be arranged for emergency medical assistance to those seriously injured.
On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep shock over the accident. He wished the injured a speedy recovery. He revealed that he has instructed the district officials to provide all possible assistance to the victims.
