According to police, the complainant, Amit Agarwal, had kept the cash in his wife’s handbags inside a wooden almirah on the first floor of their house, which has been undergoing renovation since December 2025. The cash was last checked on the morning of June 30 and found intact.

Later that evening, while the complainant’s wife stepped out for a walk, the bedroom door remained unlocked as renovation work was still in progress. When she checked the handbags again around 9.30 pm, the cash was missing. Suspecting that one of the workers had stolen the money, the family approached Narayanguda Police.

A special investigation team immediately examined the scene, verified CCTV footage, collected evidence, and questioned all workers engaged at the house. Based on technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, police tracked down Deepesh Khati and arrested him on July 3 at around 10.20 am from his residence in Bowenpally.
