CCTV Eyes On The Highway: Military Secrets Being Passed On To Pakistan

Pathankot/Internet/Hyderabad, May 22 (Maxim News): Punjab Police have arrested a man who was selling Indian secrets to Pakistan for money. The police have busted a suspected espionage network that shared sensitive information about Indian Army and paramilitary movements in the Pathankot area with its handlers in Pakistan.

The police have identified Baljit Singh alias Bittu, a resident of Chak Dhariwal village, as the person responsible for the treason case. The police have identified that he had installed a CCTV camera in a shop near a bridge on National Highway-44 to monitor the movements of the Indian Army and paramilitary forces. The information from the CCTV was sent to Pakistan, said senior police officer Daljinder Singh Dhillon. When the accused was taken into custody and questioned, the accused confessed that he had installed the CCTV cameras himself.

Police investigation revealed that the accused was working on the instructions of a stranger in Dubai and was receiving Rs. 40,000 in return. The police seized a CCTV camera and an internet WiFi router from the accused. (Maxim News)
