Center Has No Power To Privatise Singareni: Kishan Reddy

Delhi/Hyderabad, Dec 10 (Maxim News) Union Minister for Cultural and Tourism, G.Kishan Reddy has clarified that the Central government does not have the authority to privatise Singareni Collieries Company Ltd. (SCCL) saying that the share of the Central government is 49 per cent, while the state share is 51 per cent. The right of the decision making with regard to privatisation lies with the State government.

Speaking to press persons, the Union Minister said that the Telangana government led by the Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao is spreading false propaganda, inspite of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi giving clarity on the privatization of Singareni. He accused the KCR family of spreading malicious propaganda that Singareni is being privatized. He said that KCR could not tolerate people supporting BJP, he said that the Center will not discriminate against any state.

Kishan Reddy said that coal mines are allotted through open auction. He said that there were many scandals in the allocation of coal mines during the UPA regime, and the Prime Minister cleaned them all. He said that TRS is promoting that they are allocating coal mines to Gujarat instead of Telangana. He said that the Central government has taken steps not to allocate any single coal block at will. He said that the auction of coal mines will be held in any state in a transparent manner. (Maxim News)
