Siddipet/Hyderabad, June 30, 2026: Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar alleged that the Centre was creating difficulties for Telangana by reducing fertilizer supplies and said the issue should not become a burden on farmers.
The Minister made these remarks during his visit to Husnabad town in Siddipet district, where he also reviewed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in wards 17 and 18.
Speaking to the media, Ponnam Prabhakar said fertilizer manufacturing and distribution fall under the Centre’s jurisdiction and argued that states depend on allocations for agricultural requirements.
He alleged that Telangana was receiving reduced fertilizer supplies and claimed this was causing avoidable difficulties for farmers and the agriculture sector.
According to the Minister, fertilizer availability should be ensured without political considerations and uninterrupted supply must remain a priority.
Ponnam Prabhakar demanded stronger support for Telangana’s fertilizer requirements and said the State’s agricultural needs should receive adequate attention.
He also urged public representatives from the BJP at both the state and central levels to address concerns related to fertilizer availability.
The Minister warned that if shortages continue and affect farmers, protests would be organised to press for resolution of the issue.
Alongside his visit, he reviewed the voter revision exercise and interacted with officials overseeing the process in Husnabad.
