Amaravathi, June 12: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday cautioned MLAs to remain accountable to the public and party workers, stating that elected representatives who fail to perform would face consequences.
Addressing a workshop on SIR at the Telugu Desam Party office in Mangalagiri, Chandrababu Naidu said public representatives must work continuously to retain the trust of the people.
Chandrababu Naidu Stresses Accountability of MLAs
The Chief Minister announced that a meeting of NDA leaders will be held on June 4. He also said coordination committees would be formed at the state, constituency, and district levels to strengthen cooperation among alliance partners.
Naidu urged party leaders to work together at the grassroots level and avoid discussions about relative strength within the alliance. He emphasized that party workers should receive priority and be made partners in the benefits of political power.
He said no political post is permanent and stressed that positions should be earned through performance. “As long as one works, there will be no threat to the post. If one does not work, action will be taken without hesitation,” he said.
The Chief Minister advised MLAs not to remain one term legislators and urged them to maintain good conduct. He said public support depends on the behavior and performance of elected representatives.
Naidu also reminded legislators that people ultimately decide their political future. He said good conduct and effective work would help leaders retain public confidence, while poor performance could lead to electoral setbacks.
He further cautioned MLAs against making irresponsible statements and asked them to remain disciplined in both their public and political activities.
