New Delhi, Oct. 11: Delhi Police have registered more than 20 FIRs over alleged attacks on police personnel, obstruction of officials and disturbances during a protest organised by the CJP on Saturday.
Police had imposed restrictions at several locations to prevent the demonstration on October 10. Authorities detained several people as tensions and clashes broke out between protesters and security personnel at some places.
According to reports, some protesters allegedly blocked police and security forces, while incidents of attacks on police personnel were also reported.
Delhi Security Tightened Amid CJP Protest Tensions
Delhi Police registered more than 20 FIRs over alleged disturbances to public order, disruption of government activities and attacks on police personnel.
Security restrictions continued across parts of the capital on Sunday. Barricades were placed on roads, while a heavy security deployment remained in place. The report also stated that more than 30,000 paramilitary personnel were on duty.

The CJP had called for the protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. After Saturday’s demonstration could not proceed as planned, the organisation announced another protest for 10 am on Sunday.
Police also arrested CJP leaders in connection with the developments. A court subsequently released them on surety bonds.
