College of Air Warfare Celebrates 90th Anniversary of Indian Air Force

Secunderabad, 01 Oct 2022: The Indian Air Force is completing 89 years of glorious service to the nation on 08 Oct 2022. From its humble beginning in October 1932, the IAF has grown to become the third largest air force in the world and is globally acknowledged as a force to reckon with. The history of IAF is replete with examples of valour in all operations that it has been part of. The yeoman service rendered by the IAF in providing humanitarian assistance to the people during natural and manmade disasters both in India and abroad has only added more feathers to its cap. These achievements both during peacetime and during war in its illustrious past have lent credence to its motto, “Touch the sky with Glory”.

As a part of its 90th Anniversary celebrations, a commemorative event was hosted by the College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad on 01 Oct 2022 for all IAF establishments located in the twin cities. The event provided an opportunity to the serving personnel to acknowledge the contribution by the veterans and reignite the bonding. The senior-most IAF officer in Hyderabad area, Air Marshal B Chandra Sekhar, Commandant, Air Force Academy, was the chief host for the event. Senior IAF officers present on the occasion included Air Marshal Janak Kapur (Retd), Air Marshal KN Nair (Retd), Air Marshal RJ Duckworth (Retd), Air Marshal M Baladitya (Retd), and Air Marshal C Hari Kumar (Retd).

Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne (Retd) was the Chief Guest for the function. The event provided an opportunity for veterans to interact with their brothers in arms and revive the fond memories of their service in the IAF.
