Communication Skills course by US Fellow concluded at MANUU

Hyderabad, Dec 12 (Maxim News): The short-term course of 8-week ‘Communication Skills in English’ organized by Maulana Azad National Urdu University in collaboration with US Consulate, Hyderabad successfully concluded on November 22. The programme was inaugurated on September 24.

Certificate distribution function was held on December 11 in CSE Coaching Academy, MANUU. Ms. Robin V. Cathey, English Language Fellow, Regional English Language Office, U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad has been the Course Trainer. Dr Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice Chancellor MANUU presided over.

In all 77 students were given certificates for the completion of the Course.

Chief Guest, Mr Akash Suri, officiating Public Affairs Officer, U.S. Consulate General said it is the language that fetched him this job, and those who completed the course in English communication, should have bright employability chances. He said that he learnt Japanese and many other languages, and now he is going to learn Malay. He congratulated the students and emphasized the importance of language acquisition.

Dr Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice Chancellor MANUU who had personally initiated this Course, appreciated the efforts of Ms Robin Cathey. He congratulated the students and advised them to take this day as the beginning of learning English and committing themselves to have mastery over it. He recalled how despite being Madrasa-educated, he learnt this language. He asked the Course Trainer to consider preferring Madrasa background students while selecting students for the Course again. MANUU in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General, Hyderabad is offering this Course again from January 2019.

Ms. Robin V. Cathey expressed her gratitude to MANUU and U.S. Consulate General for providing her the opportunity to train the students. She admired the students most profusely and said that they were quick in learning. The students gave their feedback about the Course and the Course trainer.

Course Coordinator, Prof. S M. Haseebuddin Quadri, Head Dept. of English also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Dr Mohammed Yousuf Khan, Principal Polytechnic and Incharge Training & Placement Cell threw light upon how this Course came into being and how Vice Chancellor within two days granted approval to start this Course. Mr Senthil Kumar, Assistant, Cultural Affairs, U.S. Consulate General, Hyderabad proposed vote of thanks. (Maxim News)
