Congress Using Vast Organisational Network To Help Migrant Workers: Sohail

Hyderabad, April 15 (Maxim News): TPCC Minorities Department Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail said vast organisational network of Congress party was proving to be highly useful in providing required help during lockdown to various sections of the society, especially migrant workers.

Speaking to media persons after distributing ration kits among freelance camera persons at his office on Wednesday, Abdullah Sohail said that various teams have been working in a well-coordinated manner to provide help to needy persons, especially those are approaching the Control Rooms of Congress party established all across the country. “Lok Sabha MP from West Bengal A.H. Khan Chowdhury had approached the TPCC referring the calls he had received from migrant workers of West Bengal stranded in Hyderabad. The details were immediately shared with the Congress teams who immediately contacted the migrant workers located at Madhapur, Gachibowli, Hafizpet and other areas in and around Hyderabad. They were supplied rice, oil, vegetables and other essential commodities,” he informed.

Similarly, Abdullah Sohail said food material was also provided to hundreds of migrant workers from others States like Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and other northern States. Originally, he said the stranded migrant workers contacted the relatives in their natives who then approached the local Congress leaders seeking help. The information was immediately passed on to the Telangana Congress leaders to act upon. “Since all Congress leaders are actively involved in the relief works in local areas, special attention was paid to the requests being received from other States. So far, there is not a single request which was kept unattended,” he said.

The Congress leader said while cooked food packets were being supplied by Congress leaders in different slums areas in the city, the migrant workers were given rice and other commodities in adequate quantities so that they can cook their own food during the lockdown period,” he said.

Abdullah Sohail said every Congress worker is strictly following the directions given by party president Sonia Gandhi and trying their best to help the poor and needy people in the worst ever crisis we’ve have been witnessing in our lifetime. “So far we have supplied hundreds of tonnes of rice and other material and we are still mobilising more material in view of extension of lockdown till May 3. We cannot expect only the authorities to do everything in this hour of crisis. Therefore, every individual should come into action and feed the hungry. Even if a person can provide food to just one individual, he should do it,” he said. (Maxim News)
