Hyderabad, July 30: Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar on Thursday urged residents to remain vigilant as heavy rainfall is forecast over the next two days. He advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during intense rain and follow weather advisories issued by the India Meteorological Department.
The Commissioner said the city police are coordinating with the GHMC and other government departments to minimise disruptions and ensure public safety during the monsoon.
Sajjanar Reviews Traffic Preparedness Amid Heavy Rain Forecast
Sajjanar inspected traffic movement and road conditions at Punjagutta and Khairatabad junctions to assess the city’s preparedness for heavy rainfall.
He said traffic personnel have been deployed at vulnerable locations and will remain on duty to regulate traffic, prevent congestion and respond to emergencies.
The Commissioner advised residents to stay away from open manholes, fallen electric wires and damaged electric poles during rainfall. He also urged motorists to drive carefully, reduce speed near waterlogged roads, low lying areas and flyovers, and avoid taking unnecessary risks.
With heavy rain forecast over the next 48 hours, Sajjanar requested people to venture out only if necessary and to plan their travel based on official weather updates.
