Hyderabad: The Rachakonda sleuths of SOT, on credible information, apprehended two cricket betting gangs who were operating in Ibrahimpatnam and Kushaiguda P.S limits and betting money on IPL cricket matches. A total of 10 persons including organizers were nabbed and an amount of Rs.9,90,500, one laptop and 13 cellphones were seized from their possession.
A case was registered in Ibrahimpatnam Police Station. Kalakatha Subba Rao S/o K.Chennaiah age:46 Occ:Compounder R/o Srinivasa Nursing home, behind bus stand Bhadrachalam (Asst Bookie); Gottam Raju S/o Pandu age:33 R/o H.No.4-44 Sheriguda (v) Ibrahimpatnam (Punter); Mutyala Santhosh Kumar S/o Narsing Rao age:24 R/o H.No.11-31 near old bus stop Ibrahimpatnam (Punter); Venkateshwarlu R/o Erraguntapalem, Prakasham (operator) absconding and Uday Kumar R/o Bhadrachalam (operator) absconding.
Police said the accused Nagaraju with the assistance of A-2 to A-4 is organizing cricket bettings during the IPL matches by inviting bets from the punters. A-5 and A-6 are the punters who are betting during the matches with the main bookie A-1. Accused A-7 and A-8 are the line operators who are absconding. On credible information SOT, L.B.Nagar Zone apprehended the above accused and seized the following items Cash Rs.7,65,000, Cellphones – 09 and One laptop.
In another case registered by Kushaiguda P.S, accused Bathula Ravikanth S/o Venkateshwarlu age:35 Occ:Business R/o Flat no.401, 5 th Floor, Shantha Shanker Residence, Manikonda N/o Sathupally (v & m) Khammam (Main Bookie)
Yaganti Suman S/o Nageshwar Rao age:28 Occ: Software engineer R/o Qtr no.B-3/5, DAE Colony, ECIL, Kushaiguda (agent); Yalagada Sridhar S/o Gandaiah age:32 Occ:barber R/o H.No.1-9- 152, near Vegetable Market, Kushaiguda (agent); Yakari Pramodh S/o Late Prakash age:27 Occ:student R/o H.No.3-10- 99, Lal Bazar, Sec’bad (punter); Anjaneyulu Goud R/o Ghatkesar (punter) Absconding and Chintu R/o Kushaiguda (punter) absconding.

The arrests were made under the supervision of K.Narsing Rao, Inspector of Police, I/c SOT Rachakonda by Naveen, Inspector, Kashi Vishwanath, Hafeez S.Is, HC Shamshuddin PCs Rakesh, Mahender, Shrawan, Tousif, Mothilal, Srinivas of SOT Rachakonda.
