Hyderabad, June 1: Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Tuesday reviewed the implementation of the 99 day Prajapalana Pragati plan with district collectors and directed officials to intensify public awareness programmes across the state.
The review meeting was attended by C. V. Anand and senior officials.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary instructed district collectors to conduct gram sabhas and ward sabhas across Telangana on June 4, 6, 8, and 10.
He directed officials to create awareness among citizens about the special revision of electoral rolls and encourage public participation in the process.
Ramakrishna Rao also advised collectors to use gram sabhas as a platform to guide farmers on crop diversification and sustainable agricultural practices.
He stressed the need for special awareness programmes on monsoon preparedness and asked officials to take preventive measures to avoid seasonal disruptions.
The Chief Secretary directed collectors to focus on preventing waterlogging and improving sanitation during the monsoon season. He also called for awareness campaigns on tree plantation, environmental protection, and solid waste management.
He instructed district administrations to explain solid waste management rules to residents and encourage community participation in maintaining cleanliness.
Ramakrishna Rao further directed collectors to ensure that gram sabhas are conducted with the active participation of public representatives and members of Self Help Groups to strengthen grassroots governance.
