Cultivate Crops that bring in profits: Harish

Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao called upon the villagers of Baddigpaduga to change the crops they cultivate every season to increase yields and to conserve soil fertility.

Addressing the farmers after offering prayers at Vura Chervu, which was set to overflow following the release of water from Ranganayaka Sagar, Rao has called upon the farmers to take up the cultivation of highly profiting mulberry, sweet corn, vegetables instead of going in conventional way.

Saying that the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao is putting all-out efforts to make farming more profitable, Rao has said that farmers must register with the agriculture department about the extent of each crop they were cultivating. He has also sensitised the farmers on the need for taking up a fine rice variety of paddy cultivation since it is in great demand across the globe. Elated by the Minister’s first visit after the release of Godavari water, the farmers have taken him on a bullock cart.
