Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 19 (Maxim News): The Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting chaired by AICC President and MP Mallikarjun Kharge began in New Delhi on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by party leaders Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi and CWC members KC Venugopal, P. Chidambaram, Veerappa Moily, Ambika Soni, Jairam Ramesh, Sachin Pilot, Damodar Rajanarsimha, Digvijaya Singh, N. Raghuveera Reddy, Pallam Raju and Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states. It is learnt that the meeting will discuss the strategy to increase pressure on the BJP led Central government in the wake of the NEET paper leak and student agitations for reforms in the education system.
It is also reported that the meeting will formulate an action plan to fight the allegations of ‘theft’ of donations for the Ayodhya Ram temple. On the other hand, elections will be held in 7 states next year. On this occasion, the long-term strategy to be followed will be reviewed. Issues to be taken to strengthen the Congress party in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, Punjab and Gujarat, where elections will be held, will also be discussed. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar, Kerala CM VD Satheesan, and Himachal CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukku attended this meeting.
The Cockroach Janata Party has launched a nationwide agitation demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak and reforms in the education system. The agitation was supported by students and opposition parties. With this, the Cockroach Janata Party has called for a Chalo Parliament rally in New Delhi on July 20. This led to tense conditions in the national capital. In the wake of the developments that followed, Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as Union Education Minister. (Maxim News)
