Hyderabad, August 22: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar questioned the Centre’s decision to deny political clearance for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s proposed US visit.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, Dasoju alleged that the Centre had not disclosed the specific reasons behind the decision.
The MEA said the proposed US programme was not appropriate to the office held and the purpose of the visit. It also confirmed clearance for Reddy’s UK visit.
Dasoju said Reddy’s schedule should clearly mention the people he planned to meet during the proposed US trip.

He questioned whether Reddy had planned meetings with elected representatives in Boston and New York.
Dasoju also referred to reports about a possible meeting with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. However, he asked why such a meeting was not listed in the reported schedule.
He demanded that the Centre explain what aspects of the proposed programme were considered inappropriate.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the US visit was planned under Telangana Rising. It included engagements focused on education, skills, technology and institutional partnerships.

He demanded that Reddy explain whom he planned to meet and what objectives he intended to pursue.
Meanwhile, the MEA has not disclosed which specific meetings or activities led it to deny political clearance.
Dasoju said the BRS would seek clarification from the External Affairs Ministry over the decision.
