Hyderabad, Aug 16: New details have emerged in the investigation into the dead drop marijuana racket in Hyderabad.
According to the EAGLE Force investigation, the Bolla brothers allegedly ran the network while posing as suppliers of catering workers.
Officials reportedly found that the brothers had acted as informers in a theft case, which helped them establish contacts with police personnel.
Investigators are also examining alleged links between the brothers and some police personnel.
Gang Allegedly Made Multiple Deliveries Daily
According to the investigation, Eagle Force personnel found police constables at the Bolla brothers’ residence during a raid.
The officials reportedly reprimanded the constables and sent them away from the premises.
Investigators suspect that the gang was making around 25 marijuana deliveries a day using the dead drop method.
The alleged suppliers reportedly used three motorcycles without registration plates to deliver the contraband to customers.
Police are also investigating an incident involving an SI’s man pack, or wireless communication device.
The SI had allegedly attended a party with the Bolla brothers and reportedly left the device inside their car.
Cyberabad Police have already questioned the SI in connection with the incident.
The EAGLE Force investigation also reportedly found that more than 30 people had been recruited from Odisha to supply marijuana.
Officials had detained one of the Bolla brothers around two months ago and seized his mobile phone.
The Bolla brothers subsequently approached the court seeking to block further police action, according to the report.
