Delhi Bomb Blast Case: Madrasa Under Probe For Secret Use

  • Delhi bomb blast investigation links madrasa and white-collar module
  • NIA probes underground madrasa built with funds from Dr Muzammil

Hyderabad: The investigation into the Delhi bomb blast has taken a new turn after agencies found a madrasa in Faridabad that may be linked to the case. Officials said everyone already knew about the connection between Faridabad and the blasts. They stated that a white-collar terror module that began there played a key role in the Delhi attack. They also said six terrorists were arrested and noted that all were doctors. Investigators now believe a religious leader influenced them.

The new link came to light when agencies found a madrasa built on a 200-yard plot near Al Falah University. From the outside it looked like a normal construction site. However, investigators found that the structure was built nearly ten feet underground. They saw thick concrete walls nearly five feet wide. They also noticed fans, mats and seating inside, which showed that prayers were held there. The madrasa is registered in the name of a person identified as Ishtiaq. However, the entire funding was provided by Dr Muzammil, who investigators say is a terrorist. His name came up earlier in the Delhi blast module. Therefore, agencies have started checking the madrasa’s role in the case.

Investigators suspect it may be an organised module linked to terrorism. They now want to know when the underground structure was planned and who designed it. They also want to track the source of construction material and understand the reason for such a strong internal layout. The NIA is examining all these aspects. On November 24, 2025, an NIA team visited Faridabad with Dr Muzammil under special security. They inspected the madrasa, the house where he stayed and Al Falah University.

Meanwhile, agencies also found new details about Dr Umar Nabi, the main accused in the Delhi attack. They learned that the Faridabad module had told officers about a secret mobile workstation used to make explosive devices. According to terrorist Muzammil, Dr Umar tested chemical mixtures for IEDs inside his room at Al Falah University. NIA sources said he turned a suitcase into a mobile workstation. They said he carried chemicals and equipment inside it. Police later found bomb-making materials in the suitcase. Investigators said Umar used a half-made IED for the Delhi blast.

The new findings suggest the network operated with high planning and secret structures, raising fresh concerns for investigators.
