According to the Ministry of Defence, the demonstrations were conducted through three consecutive flight tests held on June 10 and 11.

The ministry said the multi layered Ballistic Missile Defence capability was successfully validated during the trials.

Interceptor missiles accurately engaged and neutralised designated targets during the tests. Officials stated that the systems were developed using advanced technologies to address emerging missile threats.

The successful demonstration is expected to strengthen India’s strategic deterrence capability and expand its advanced defence infrastructure.

The ministry stated that the latest trials place India among a select group of countries with missile defence capability designed to engage threats up to intercontinental ballistic missile levels.

In another key development, DRDO also conducted the maiden flight test of the Naval Anti Ship Missile Medium Range system.
