Hyderabad, Jan.9 (Maxim News): Economically Backward Classes Welfare Association Central Committee thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing 10% reservation for the poor people among the upper castes. Association National President Vallapureddy Ravinder Reddy, along with other members, conducted a meeting to thank Prime Minister, and performed pala (milk) abhishekam to the photo of Narendra Modi.
Speaking on the occasion at Hyderguda NSS here, Ravinder Reddy described Narendra Modi as architect of Modern Indian Constitution, who gave inspiration to the ideals of Dr B R Ambedkar. He requested the Prime Minister to constitute EBC Commission, EBC Corporation and EBC Ministry at the Centre, along with the reservation, to ensure welfare of the EBCs.
Ravinder Reddy deplored that after 70 yeaqrs of Independence, poorer sections among the upper castes were subjected to neglect and disrespect, and the credit for providing reservation for them went to Narendra Modi. He said by organizing demonstrations and dharnas near Parliament in Delhi many times, they have highlighted the injustices meted out to the EBCs. EBC State Secretary M Upender, Abhilash Reddy, Dr Anand, Krishna Rao were amongt those who participated in the meeting. (Maxim News)
