Hyderabad: A 25-year-old electrician was killed and his co-worker sustained serious injuries after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a road median on a flyover in Bachupally on Monday. Police suspect overspeeding caused the accident.
The deceased was identified as Shiva Sai Pavan (25), a resident of Renuka Yellamma Colony, Bachupally. He worked as an electrician at Urban Rise Apartments and hailed from Pallamalli village in Chimakurthy mandal of Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh.
Police Suspect Overspeeding
The injured pillion rider, Uma Prasad (23), is also an electrician and resides in HMT Colony, Miyapur. He is a native of Pallypalam village in Thallarevu mandal of Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh.
According to police, the motorcycle hit the road median while travelling on the flyover, leaving both riders critically injured.
Shiva Sai Pavan succumbed to his injuries, while Uma Prasad was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police moved the body to a government hospital for post-mortem examination and registered a case.
The Bachupally Police are investigating the incident to determine the exact circumstances leading to the fatal crash.
