Hyderabad, Mar 13 (Maxim News): Moinabad police have issued a second notice to BRS MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy in the cockfighting case at the farmhouse. The notices ask him to appear for questioning. The police have pasted notices to this effect at the house of MLC Srinivas Reddy, who lives in Madhapur.
Meanwhile, BRS MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, who received the first notice in the case of cockfighting in the farmhouse, explained it to the police on February 17. The police issued the notices as the farmhouse where the cockfighting took place belonged to the MLC. The police stated in the notices that he should personally attend the hearing and also provide details regarding the farmhouse. With this, the MLC, who came with his lawyer, gave a written explanation to the Moinabad police. Pochampally stated that the farmhouse where the cockfighting took place belonged to him and that he had leased it to Ramesh Kumar Reddy in 2023.
It was revealed that along with Ramesh Kumar, another person was also given the land on lease. Pochampally also handed over the lease documents to the police. The letter stated that the land given on lease was taken by AP businessman Bhupathi Raju Shiva Kumar Varma alias Gabbar Sigh. MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy explained to the police that he had no connection with the cockfighting.
Meanwhile, a person named Bhupathi Raju Shivakumar Varma alias Gabbar Singh is said to have organized large-scale cockfighting and casinos in the same farmhouse two or three times. Recently, he once again organized cockfighting in the Moinabad farmhouse. It is said that after the Sankranti festival, the remaining chickens were brought to the farmhouse, and cockfighting was organized. Many businessmen and real estate traders attended the cockfighting. Based on solid information about this, the SOT police raided the farmhouse.
However many had already escaped, but the police detained some of them. The police arrested Bhupathi Raju Shivakumar, who was conducting cockfighting. A total of 64 people were arrested in this raid. Rs. 30 lakh in cash was used for betting, 55 luxury cars and 85 chickens were used for betting, and chicken knives were seized. Among the arrested, 10 are from Telangana, while the rest are from AP. A case has been registered at Moinabad police station under the Gaming Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
However, since the owner of this farmhouse is BRS MLC Pochampally Srinivas, the police have issued notices to him. Upon receiving the notices, the MLC, along with his lawyer, gave a written explanation to the Moinabad police. The MLC clarified that he has no connection with these cockfighting incidents.
However, the police have also named the BRS MLC as an accused in this case. In this order, the police have issued notices to Srinivas Reddy for the second time, asking him to appear for questioning.
