Hyderabad, July 12 (Maxim News): Medak MP Raghunandan Rao is facing criticism after HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath’s remarks stirred controversy over the proposed demolition of Fatima College, a reputed institution known for providing free education to poor students.
Commissioner Ranganath had earlier stated that any structure located within Full Tank Level (FTL) zones should be demolished, which would include Fatima College. However, he later clarified that he had no immediate plans to demolish the college, which sparked political reactions.
Reacting strongly, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother, MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, criticized the inconsistency, stating that “everyone is equal before the law.” They accused the authorities of showing double standards and warned that Fatima College should not be exempted if other structures in FTL areas are being demolished.
They added that HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath may be reluctant to move against the college, but they would continue to fight in the courts until Fatima College is demolished following the law.
The row has intensified political debates over selective demolition in FTL zones, and the issue is expected to escalate further. (Maxim News)
