Five arrested in double murder case under Uppal PS

Hyderabad, Oct.18 (NSS): On the morning of October 14 at 7 am, a complaint was lodged with Uppal PS by one Narsimla Venkateshwarlu, 52, a Brahmin, residing at Flat No B21, Srinivasa Heights, Adarsha Nagar, Uppal, Medchal-Malkajgiri District stating that his neighbour informed him at 6 am that his father Narsimla Narsimh, 75, priest by profession and younger brother of Narsimla, 45, a software engineer was hacked to death by some unidentified persons at their residence at Hanuma Sai Nagar, Uppal. A case was registered in Cr No 1027/2022 under section 302, 201, 212, 506, 148, 120-B read with 149, 109 IPC & Sec 25 (1) (b) of Indian Arms Act of Uppal police station and investigation was taken up by the Uppal Police Station.

The deceased were identified as Narsimla Narsimha, s/o Venkata Narayana, aged 75 years, priest residing at H No 2-2-150, Hanuma Sai Nagar, Uppal, and deceased No 2 is Narsimla Srinivas, s/o Narsimha, aged 45 years, software employee, residing at H No 2-2-150, Hanuma Sai Nagar, Uppal, Medchal Malkajgiri District.

Basing on the technical evidence of the eye witnesses, the principal accused was identified as Likki Vinay Yogendar Reddy alias Vinay alias Chintu, who along with Yalla Bala Krishna alias Balu was taken into custody on October 17 at 4 pm at Suchitra Circle. Based on the confessions of the accused A-1 and A-2, the accused A-3 to A-5 were taken into custody on October 18 at MGBS at 6 am when they were trying to escape.

Police said in 1991, A1’s father Parma Yogender Reddy was murdered due to political rivalry at Thukaramgate. The D-1 is maternal uncle of A-1 namely Janga Reddy used to visit the house of D-1 frequently for performing pooja. The A-1 along with his maternal uncle visited the house of D-1 and used to call him as Taatha (Grandpa). The accused A-1 got attracted to puja of D-1 and became superstitious that he can achieve anything with D-1.

In the year 2016, A1 Likki Vinay Yogendar Reddy appeared for SI examination and the deceased with a promise to perform puja to get him SI job collected Rs 6,00,000 and made him to pay Rs 12,50,000 to Vali residing near Kismathpur, Bandlaguda and Rajyalakshmi. They did not do any favour and he couldn’t get the job. When he pressurized them to return the amount, Vali returned Rs 10,00,000 cash and for Rs 2,50,000 cheques issued. But D1 Narsimha failed to return Rs 6,00,000 and dodged the matter.

The A-1 invested Rs 13.5 lakh with one Varun, who was a contractor. On repeated requests, Varun failed to repay the amount to A-1 Vinay for which he approached D1 with a request to perform puja, for which D1 collected Rs 40,000. When Varun returned half of the amount, the D-1 collected Rs 1,50,000 by saying that due to his puja, the contractor repaid half of the amount.

In the year 2019, accused Vinay Reddy approached D-1 and told him that he was unable to settle in the life. On hearing that, the D1 informed him that “Grahas” were not in his favour and advised him to go abroad and collected Rs 11,000 for performing puja. Later, he went to Australia but, he couldn’t continue due to lockdown and he returned to India in September 2020.

From March 2021 onwards, accused Vinay Reddy mounted pressure on the D-1 to return his Rs 6,00,000, which was taken by him with a promise of performing puja to get SI job. But D-1 dragged the matter and started to avoid him. From September 2021, the accused fell sick and was suffering financially and mental stress, including involvement in a police case against him. He was arrested in Cr No 244/2022 U/sec 326, 504, 148 r/w 149 IPC of Pahadishareef PS. He was facing bad vibes on every Pournami and following two days. The accused strongly felt that D-1 might have performed black magic on him in order to avoid repaying his Rs 6 lakh and decided to do away with the D1.

Accordingly, he took the help of his friend A2 Bala Krishna, his villager A-3 Jagadeesh. The A-3 Jagadeesh in turn introduced A-4 Ganvaya Ram, A-5 Gaikwad Shyam Sundar alias Shyam to A-1 and all together discussed about their plan to physically eliminate D1. All the accused away and they identified Sri Venkateshwara Deluxe Boys hostel situated opposite to the house of the D-1 which was very much easier to watch the movements of the D-1. The accused A-1 provided cell phones to the accused A-3 and A-4 for communication and arranged room No 8 in the said hostel.

On October 8, A-1 to A-3 kept A-4 Ganvaya Ram in the said room for observing the movements of D-1 and to inform the same to them. On the day of incident, the accused A-1 and A-2 also joined the accused A-4 Ganvaya Ram in the hostel and were watching the movements of D-1 from the hostel and waiting for an opportunity. At 0545 am when the maid servant of D-1 opened the gate, all of sudden the accused A-1 and A-2 carrying a sickle and knife entered the house of D-1 and threatened the maid servant. The accused A-1 attacked the D-1 and hacked him brutally with a sickle while the accused A-2 stabbed the D-2 on his chest resulting their instantaneous death.

The accused A-6 Gaddi Karthik and A-7 Vakiti Sudhakar Reddy provided a two-wheeler and transferred Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively to A1 after the offence to escape and concealed the vehicle. The accused A-8 is the mother of the accused A-1 who washed away the blood stained clothes of the A-1.

The police seized blood-stained clothes of A-2, blood-stained sickle and knife from A-1 and A-2, one motorcycle from A-4 and Cell phones from A-1 to A-4.

In the case of double murder, even though there are no clues, efforts were made to detect the case with the assistance of SOT under the supervision of Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS, ADGP, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Rakshitha K Murthy IPS, DCP Malkajgiri Zone, K.Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, P.Naresh Reddy, ACP Malkajgiri Division, Venkanna Naik, ACP, SOT, Ramulu, Inspector, SOT Malkajgiri and his team, R.Govinda Reddy, Inspector, Uppal PS, B.Nehru, SI, Uppal and staff in short period detected and arrested the accused.
