Flooding Continues At Nagarjuna Sagar: 26 Gates Lifted
Hyderabad, Aug 29 (Maxim News): The Krishna river is flowing violently. River Krishna is rushing towards Nagarjuna sagar from the upper reaches. Due to this, Nagarjuna Sagar has become like a full pot. As the flood flow is heavy, 26 gates have been lifted and water has been released downstream.
Officials said that 24 gates have been lifted by 5 feet and 2 gates by 10 feet and water has been released downstream.
Currently, the inflow and outflow of Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir is 2,61,972 cusecs, 2,16,842 cusecs have been released through Sagar Spillway. 8,529 cusecs have been released to the Sagar Right Canal.
The full water level of Nagarjuna Sagar project is 590 feet, while the current water level is 587.40 feet. The full water storage of Sagar reservoir is 312.04 TMC, while the current water storage is 305.74 TMC. (Maxim News)
