FM Announces Rs.10,000 Cr for Hyd Special projects

Hyderabad, March 8 (Maxim News): Finance Minister T Harish Rao said that Rs.10,000 crore is proposed in the Budget for 2020-21, to carryout Musi River purification and Musi River Front projects and all other special projects and works in Hyderabad urban agglomeration. announced

In his budget address the Legislature, the Minister said that the State Government hs estimated that Rs.50,000 crore is required in the net five years to take up development works in the capital city whici is being transformed into International city. Of this, Rs.10,000 crore is proposed in the Budget.

Harish pointed out that the chief Minister (KCR) had requested the Central Government to grant special funds for development of six Metro cities in India. Central Government has not granted special funds to Hyderabad and other cities.

More Basthi Dawakhanas

The Minister said that 118 Basthi Dawakhnas are providing medical facilities in the city and there is good response from the people to these dawakhanas. Government has decided to enhance the Basthi Dawalkkhanas to 350. Apart from starting two basthi dwakhanas for every Division, Government will establish more dawakhanas in the places where SCs, STs, Minorities and poor people are residing.

DBR Houses

Harish Rao referred to the double bed room houses programme taking up by the TS Government sand said tht at present 2,72,763 houses are in different stages of construction in the State. As promised in the last election manifesto, Government is proposing to provide financial assistance to construct double bedroom houses to the poor people who re having their own land. ‘I am glad to share that one lakh beneficiaries are going to get financial assistance towards house construction in the ensuing financial year’, he added.(Maxim News)
