Ganesh Immersion: GHMC Sets Up 74 Artificial Ponds Across Hyderabad
Ganesh Immersion | Hyderabad, August 29: To ensure the smooth and safe immersion of Ganesh idols during the upcoming festival, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has set up 74 artificial immersion ponds across the city.
These arrangements are aimed at easing the process, reducing pressure on major lakes, and providing convenient options for devotees.
Ganesh Immersion | Special Arrangements by GHMC | Each immersion point will have:
A designated in-charge officer and a nodal officer, with the Deputy Commissioner as the overall in-charge.
- Adequate cranes, sanitation staff, and vehicles for waste removal.
- Control rooms and medical camps at key locations.
- Staff working in three shifts to ensure a smooth process throughout the immersion days.

Along with 20 major lakes such as Hussain Sagar, Saroor Nagar Lake, IDL Lake, Safilguda Lake, and Sunnam Lake, immersions will also take place in these 74 artificial ponds. This initiative aims to prevent overcrowding at major water bodies and provide nearby immersion facilities for residents.
