Army Welfare Placement | Secunderabad, August 29: The Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO) Regional Office, under the aegis of Headquarters Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA), organized a Job Fair at the Secunderabad Military Station to mark Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) Day.
The event was attended by Major General Ajay Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) TASA, and Mrs. Shyamjali Mishra, Chairperson of the Family Welfare Organisation, TASA. Both engaged with participants and delivered an inspiring address aimed at motivating widows and dependents seeking employment opportunities.
Colonel B.G. Budhori, Director of AWPO (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana), briefed the GOC about the objectives and highlights of the event. The job fair was organized in collaboration with Magic Bus Foundation and 15 leading corporate companies, including FactSet (FinTech), Wipro (IT), HDFC, Pramerica Life, Cult Fit, TOMCOM (Overseas), and Make My Uniform (Garments), among others.

The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response with 129 widows and dependents participating. Out of these, 75 candidates were shortlisted, and 5 were selected on the spot, reflecting the event’s success in creating meaningful job opportunities.
This initiative reinforces the Army’s continued commitment to the welfare and empowerment of its personnel and their families.
Through such platforms, AWPO plays a pivotal role in enabling widows and dependents to achieve financial independence and secure a brighter future.
