Secunderabad Railway Station | Hyderabad, Sept. 29: Secunderabad Railway Station witnessed a major ganja seizure after Telangana Excise State Task Force officials recovered 15.426 kg of ganja from two abandoned bags on Tuesday.
Acting on information that ganja was being transported through trains, Excise officials conducted searches across the railway station platforms.
CI Ganapathi Reddy and SI Naresh Reddy, along with their staff, carried out the checks. During the operation, officials noticed two suspicious bags on Platform No. 10.
The team searched the bags and found ganja inside. Officials weighed the seized contraband and confirmed that it totalled 15.426 kg.
The seized ganja is estimated to be worth around ₹8 lakh, according to Excise officials.

Officials said the persons who allegedly brought the bags to the Secunderabad Railway Station noticed the Excise team and fled from the platform, leaving the bags behind.
The Excise officials are now working to identify the suspects. They are examining the bags and other available clues as part of the investigation.
Officials are also trying to determine where the ganja originated and its intended destination.
The seized 15.426 kg of ganja was handed over to the Secunderabad Excise Station for further action.
A case has been registered and the investigation is continuing. Officials said further details would emerge as efforts to identify and trace the suspects progress.
