Hyderabad, August 13 (Maxim News): GATE 2027 registration will begin on August 14, with IIT Madras announcing a revised application schedule for the engineering entrance test.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is used for admission to postgraduate programmes at higher education institutions. It also serves as an eligibility route for recruitment in several Public Sector Undertakings.
Candidates can submit their applications online with the regular fee until September 21. However, students who miss the deadline can apply with a late fee until September 30.
Meanwhile, the correction window will remain open from October 14 to October 21. Candidates can use this period to correct permitted details in their applications.
The GATE 2027 examination will be conducted in computer based test mode. The exam is scheduled on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027.
According to the revised schedule, candidates will receive information about their examination centres on January 4. The results are scheduled for release on March 19, 2027.
This year, the examination will cover 30 subjects. Importantly, IIT Madras has added Robotics and Automation as a new subject.
Candidates seeking admission to MTech and PhD programmes can use GATE scores, subject to the eligibility rules of individual institutions. In addition, several public sector organisations consider GATE scores during their recruitment processes.
Therefore, applicants should check the official eligibility conditions before submitting their forms. They should also verify personal details, academic information and other entries carefully.
The revised schedule gives candidates additional time to complete the application process. However, applicants should avoid waiting until the final day, as technical issues or incomplete information could affect submission.
GATE remains one of India’s major national level examinations for engineering and technology graduates. The test also provides candidates with opportunities for higher education and professional advancement.
