GHMC elections survey | Hyderabad, April 6: BJP leaders in the state have begun preparations to secure a majority of seats in the upcoming Greater Hyderabad elections.
As the election notification may come anytime, the party has started identifying strong candidates.
There are 300 seats under three commissionerates. Therefore, the party is focusing on strategies to win at least two mayor posts. Meanwhile, corporator aspirants have started internal surveys to assess their strengths.
Reports suggest that several candidates are approaching reputed survey agencies in the state. They are seeking reports on their winning chances before entering the contest.
At present, four to five aspirants from Congress, BRS, and BJP are competing in each division. However, parties are likely to issue tickets only to candidates with strong public support.
Congress has reportedly completed its survey. Similarly, BJP aspirants are also conducting surveys to strengthen their chances.

Survey agency offices have become busy even before the election notification. Many leaders planning to contest corporator seats are visiting these offices.
Several agencies have offices in Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, and Gachibowli. Leaders are waiting for hours to understand survey methods and packages.
Agencies reportedly charge about Rs 4 lakh for basic reports. They also demand Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh for full campaign support if a candidate gets a ticket.
These agencies also suggest campaign routes, key talking points, and promises to address local opposition. Notably, each agency works with only one candidate per division. If multiple aspirants approach them, they select the first one who pays.

Political parties are identifying about four candidates per division to strengthen their prospects. As a result, local leaders with connections to senior leaders are visiting party state offices.
Many aspirants are requesting tickets, citing their financial strength and local support. They also highlight social service activities in their divisions.
Some claim they have worked for the party for over 20 years. They are reportedly urging party leaders to consider them this time.
