GHMC TO Set Up 311 New Grounds

Hyderabad, Dec. 27 | GHMC is giving a lot of attention to sports development. New sports grounds are being made available to promote sports.

It has been decided to set up 450 sports grounds under the Telangana Sports Complex Scheme, but 311 have been identified so far.

These will be made available soon. These grounds will be used for sports like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Long Jump, etc.

It is to mention here that the GHMC sports department has 521 sports grounds throughout the year, which are used by about 1.50 lakh people every month.

The general public, sports clubs, and school students are booking these sports grounds through GHMC’s online portal www.ghmc.gov.in/sports.

For sports, GHMC has no encouragement for children even if they are interested in sports. Even if the parents encourage it, there are no available grounds.

GHMC is giving great importance to sports to build a healthy city. We are encouraging children towards sports through the development of sports grounds, the creation of facilities, the construction of new grounds, the construction of sports complexes, and summer activities.

Besides, monthly financial assistance is provided to veteran sportspersons. The GHMC has also facilitated the use of these sports grounds by private schools said Mothe Srilata Shobhan Reddy, Deputy Mayor.
