Govt is encouraging pisciculture in a large way: Talasani

Hyderabad, Oct.7 (Maxim News): State Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that they had taken up Pisciculture in a big way in the state. He said that they were supplying the fish seed and prawns on 100 percent grant to the fishermen community of the state. He made these remarks while replying to the questions raised by the MLAs of the state during a question and answer session on the issue of the pisciculture.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that they had proposed to 93 crore fish seed in 28,704 water bodies of the state and 10 crore prawns in 200 water bodies of the state. He said that they would release the fish seed in 81 reservoirs, 1,348 permanent tanks and 27,275 Monsoon based tanks. He also said that they were providing insurance scheme to the fishermen community. He alleged that the fishermen of the state were neglected in the undivided AP state and added that no funds were allocated to the fishermen in the annual budget of the undivided state.

He said that the state government had decided to come to the rescue of all sections of society after the formation of Telangana state and added that they had provided livelihood to the fishermen community as per the dreams of the Chief Minister.(Maxim News)
