The GP poll results in Telangana have drawn a strong reaction from the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. TPCC President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud said the outcome of the panchayat elections reflects the continued dominance of the Congress party. He stated that the results of the third phase, along with the first and second phases, show a clear and favourable atmosphere for the ruling party in rural areas. According to him, this atmosphere emerged due to the government’s public welfare programmes.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the villages have once again crowned the Congress party. He said the GP poll results stand as a clear endorsement of the Congress government’s performance. He also said that the verdict given by the people will act as a guiding principle for strengthening the Congress party in Telangana. Therefore, he described the outcome as politically significant for the party’s future direction.

Meanwhile, the TPCC chief said Congress backed candidates secured a resounding victory in a majority of sarpanch seats across the state in the third phase of the elections. He said this outcome reflects the confidence rural voters have placed in the Congress government’s administration. He also stated that the GP poll results have become a slap in the face for the opposition parties. According to him, the verdict mirrors the aspirations of the people and once again proves the satisfaction of the rural population with the present government.

However, Mahesh Kumar Goud also linked the results to the broader vision promoted by the Congress. He said the people have embraced the slogan of “welfare, social justice and development.”

He added that the strong performance of Congress candidates in the sarpanch elections clearly indicates this acceptance. Therefore, he viewed the GP poll results as a reflection of the party’s message reaching villages across the state.

Later, the TPCC president pointed to the wide social support reflected in the elections. He said the large scale support from minorities, Dalits, tribals, women, farmers and youth signals a new direction in village governance. He also said social justice was clearly reflected in the panchayat elections. According to him, these GP poll results underline the growing trust in the Congress government at the grassroots level and reinforce the party’s position in rural Telangana.
