Hyderabad, July 7: Senior BRS leader and former minister T Harish Rao distributed tea stall equipment worth Rs 72 lakh to 91 beneficiaries from five rural mandals in Siddipet constituency on Sunday. The initiative was undertaken with the support of the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) to strengthen the livelihoods of small tea stall owners.
Harish Rao provided equipment valued at approximately Rs 80,000 to each beneficiary. The kits included a tea stall stand, gas stove, LPG cylinder, LED lights, fan, water bottles, glasses, kettle and other essential items required to operate a tea stall.
Speaking at the programme, Rao said many tea vendors were running their businesses from pushcarts and roadside footpaths due to financial constraints. He said the initiative aimed to help them establish better facilities and improve their income.
He added that operating a tea stall enables many families to earn a stable livelihood. Therefore, he said, extending such support would help beneficiaries run their businesses more efficiently.
The total value of the equipment distributed to the 91 beneficiaries was estimated at Rs 72 lakh.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Harish Rao and the National Egg Coordination Committee for supporting their livelihoods.
