- Harish Rao questions CM Revanth Reddy over Siddipet funds
- Demand to restore Rs 1070 crore and resume halted works
Hyderabad, March 17: Harish Rao has written an open letter to Revanth Reddy, demanding the release of stopped funds for Siddipet. The BRS Deputy Floor Leader questioned how the Chief Minister would enter the district while raising concerns over halted development.
In the letter, Harish Rao questioned why there was hostility towards Siddipet. He raised concerns about the cancellation of funds worth Rs 1,070 crore that were earlier allocated for development works during the previous government. He demanded that the funds be restored and asked the Chief Minister to visit Siddipet.
Harish Rao Letter on Siddipet Funds and Development
Meanwhile, Harish Rao said that people in Siddipet have not forgotten past criticisms of the area’s development. He questioned whether any work had been done in the constituency during the Congress government. He also stated that funds for the palm oil factory project were released during the BRS government.
Furthermore, he expressed regret that development in Siddipet had been neglected. He said that the cancellation of sanctioned funds had led to a halt in works for 27 months. According to him, this decision stopped ongoing development activities midway.
Concerns Over Cancelled Funds and Halted Works
Harish Rao highlighted that Rs 1070.73 crore had been allocated during the BRS government for development in Siddipet. However, he said that these funds were cancelled while the works were still in progress. As a result, all activities came to a stop.
He also criticized the failure to release funds even for completed works. He said this had negatively impacted the constituency. He added that if the projects had continued, Siddipet’s future would have been different.
Therefore, Harish Rao urged the Chief Minister to immediately restore the cancelled funds. He also advised taking steps to resume the halted works and ensure continued development. He stressed that such action would help address public concerns and uphold governance standards.
