HC Says No Demolition Of Sectt Buildings Till Oct 14

Hyderabad, Oct.1 (Maxim News): In a setback to Government High Court on Tuesday directed state Government to avoid demolishing old Secretariat buildings to build a new one on the premises until October 14.

The court directed the Government to not take any decision to demolishing the Secretariat buildings until October 14. The court also said that it will hear the case after Dasara festival holidays.

The court directions came at a time when KCR has called a Cabinet meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday. He is likely to decide on fixing dates and deadline for laying foundation stone and razing down existing structures in the Secretariat, new revenue act and other issues.

Secretariat was closed on last Sunday as all departments vacated for construction of a new Secretariat. After hearing petitions in the contentious turned issue, the court directed against demolition plan.

It may be said here that the court already quashed a petition to build a new Assembly complex by razing down historic Errum Manzil structures. The court decided to hear again the case only after Dasara holidays. (Maxim News)
