Nalgonda: Several mandals in Nalgonda district witnessed moderate to heavy rain on Sunday.
In Nalgonda district, moderate rain was reported in Kethepally, Kattangur, Munugide and Nalgonda mandals. Heavy rain was reported in Nalgonda town which had overcast skies throughout the day. In Suryapet district, Chivvemla, Nagaram, Thungathurthy and Nadigiudem mandals witnessed rain during the day.
The timely rains have come as a boon for farmers who have taken up Vaanakalam cultivation. Transplantation of paddy nurseries is progressing in the district in a big way and germination of cotton seeds sown had also begun.
