High Court Verdict: 181 Acres Of Land In Shamshabad Belongs To HMDA

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court dismissed the writ petition of the trespassers who had encroached on the government lands by creating a false land record. It ruled on Thursday (14th) that the lands will belong to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).

In the last few days, some people have tried to grab about 50 acres of land of 181 acres owned by HMDA in Shamshabad Municipality. They tried to find a position in HMDA owned lands by showing irrelevant survey numbers.

The State Government, HMDA Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA Estate, Legal and Enforcement officials have been presenting their arguments in the High Court for the last one year after thoroughly examining the land records and considering the legal aspects.

After hearing the arguments, the Divisional Bench of the High Court reserved the verdict on November 18. The  High Court announced the final verdict on Thursday (14th) and disclosed that the writ petition of the occupiers was dismissed.

181 acres of land in Shamshabad was acquired by HMDA under Land Acquisition (LA) in the year 1990 for setting up a truck terminal park for the needs of the day. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has all rights over these lands in Shamshabad.

HMDA nursery is working in about 20 acres of land here. According to the orders of the state government, out of 181 acres of HMDA, two (2) acres of land has been allotted to the veg and non-veg market for the convenience of the people of that area.

Thirty (30) guntas of land has been allocated from these lands belonging to HMDA for the construction of Shamshabad Municipal Office in the background of the establishment of new municipalities by the state government.   (Maxim News)
