Hyderabad: 7 Arrested For Involving In Ganja Trade
Hyderabad: Two different gangs involved in smuggling and sale of marijuana were caught by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (west) team in the city on Tuesday. The police seized 78 kg ganja, cash and auto rickshaw from them.
In the first case the Task Force team caught five persons near Secunderabad railway station. Those caught are identified as Nalam Shiva (26), J Sathibabu (27) and Chinni Durga (25) all natives of AP along with Shaik Azam and a juvenile, both from the city.
“Shaik Azam was procuring the contraband from Shiva, Sathibabu and Durga for Rs 2,500 a kg and selling it in the city for Rs 7,000,” said P Radha Kishan Rao, DCP, Task Force. The juvenile was helping Azam in procuring and selling the ganja.
On information they were caught near Secunderabad railway station. The police seized 54 kg ganja, Rs 25,000 cash, seven mobile phones and an autorickshaw from them.
Two more persons who had purchased ganja from Nalam Shiva and his associates were caught at Mangalhat by the Task Force team.
Those caught are identified as Narsing Singh (45) and Durgesh Singh (22) both residents of Mangalhath. The duo purchased 24 kg of the contraband and were selling to customers when they were caught, said the Task Force officials.
