Hyderabad, Feb 15 (Maxim News): A cloud of uncertainty hangs over Hyderabad as the Telangana Auto Union (TATU) gears up for a statewide auto strike tomorrow, Friday, February 16th. Union Blames Free Bus Scheme, TATU President Vemula Maraiah, addressing a gathering at Uppal Mallapur, pointed the finger at the government’s free bus scheme, claiming it has decimated the livelihoods of auto drivers. He cited reports of job losses, financial hardship, and even suicides within the auto driver community, urging the government to address these concerns before the situation escalates further.

The strike will culminate in a massive auto rally starting at 10 am on Friday. The rally, expected to draw auto drivers from across Telangana, will snake its way from Sundarayya Vigyan Kendram to Narayanguda Square, potentially causing major traffic congestion on key arterial roads.

Commuters are Advised to Seek Alternatives, the impending strike is expected to significantly impact traffic flow, particularly in areas surrounding the rally route and major auto stands. Commuters are strongly advised to seek alternative transportation options like buses, cabs, or carpooling, or factor in significantly longer travel times.

Mariah further warned the Congress party of facing repercussions in the upcoming elections if their demands remain unheard. He threatened to disrupt election campaigns, potentially adding another layer of tension to the already charged political atmosphere.

While the auto drivers’ concerns deserve attention, the potential impact of the strike on the city’s daily life cannot be ignored. A peaceful resolution, achieved through dialogue and compromise, is crucial to mitigate the disruption and ensure essential services continue uninterrupted.

As the situation unfolds, citizens are advised to stay informed by monitoring local news, traffic updates, and official government channels for the latest developments. Planning alternative travel arrangements and factoring in potential delays will be key to navigating the city during the strike. (Maxim News)
