Hyderabad Ganesh Immersion: High Security, Massive Arrangements in Place
Hyderabad, September 3, 2025: With the final phase of Ganesh idol immersion scheduled for September 6, Hyderabad Police and civic authorities have stepped up preparations to ensure a smooth and secure procession across the city. Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand confirmed that elaborate security measures are in place to maintain law and order during the Ganesh Nimajjan Shobhayatra.
Route Inspection and Safety Measures
On Wednesday, Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Hyderabad Collector Harichandan Dasari, Rachakonda CP Sudheer Babu, and other senior officials conducted a ground-level inspection of the immersion route. The route includes Balapur, Charminar Circle, Mozam Jahi Market, Telugu Talli Flyover, and Necklace Road People’s Plaza, where immersion will take place. Authorities reviewed arrangements for idol processions, vehicle clearance, waste disposal, power supply, traffic diversions, and emergency services.
Commissioner Anand stated that 30,000 police personnel will be deployed to ensure peaceful processions. Special focus has been placed on the Khairatabad and Balapur processions to ensure timely completion. He emphasized that all arrangements are being coordinated with government departments and any pending works will be addressed immediately.

GHMC Preparations and Infrastructure
GHMC Commissioner Karnan detailed civic arrangements, including 20 major lakes and 72 artificial ponds for immersions. The civic body has installed 134 fixed cranes, 259 mobile cranes, and 56,187 temporary lights across the city. For safety, 9 boats and 200 professional swimmers have been deployed at Hussain Sagar, supported by Disaster Response Force teams. Additionally, 13 control rooms have been set up for real-time monitoring.
To maintain cleanliness, 14,486 sanitation workers will work in three shifts round the clock. So far, 1,21,905 idols have been immersed, and around 50,000 more idols are expected on September 6. GHMC has also deployed 160 Ganesh Action Teams along the 303.3 km immersion route to ensure a smooth flow of processions.
Hyderabad Collector Harichandan Dasari assured that all departments are working in coordination for a safe and peaceful celebration.
