Hyderabad: KCR Hospitalized After Fall
KCR | Hyderabad, December 8 (Maxim News): K Chandrasekhar Rao, the former Chief Minister of Telangana and leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has been hospitalized at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad. He suffered injuries in a fall at his farm house in Erravalli on Thursday.
The 69-year-old politician broke his left hip bone in the accident. He is currently undergoing treatment and may require surgery, depending on the results of further tests.
KCR’s health condition is reported to be stable. Doctors are expected to conduct additional tests in the coming days.
BRS MLC K Kavitha, KCR’s daughter, provided an update on Twitter:
KCR Hospitalised:
“BRS supremo KCR Garu sustained a minor injury and is currently under expert care in the hospital. With the support and well-wishes pouring in, Dad will be absolutely fine soon. Grateful for all the love.”
It is to mention here that KCR’s recent defeat in the Telangana Assembly polls marked the end of his bid to become the first three-time Chief Minister in South India. The Congress party won a landslide victory in the election, defeating the BRS.
Reports suggest that KCR’s overconfidence may have played a role in the defeat. He may have underestimated the public’s dissatisfaction with local MLAs.
Despite KCR’s popularity and positive opinion of his government, voters expressed their dissatisfaction by voting against the party.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao acknowledged that he advised KCR to field new faces in the polls instead of sitting MLAs, but KCR persisted with the incumbent MLAs.
As a result of the election, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Revanth Reddy assumed the role of Chief Minister. (Maxim News)
