Hyderabad, May 8 (Maxim News): Hyderabad City Police conducted a special enforcement drive across the Secunderabad Zone on May 7 against public drinking, smoking, and drug consumption in open places.
The operation took place between 6:30 am and 8:30 am under the supervision of Rakshita Krishnamurthy. Police carried out extensive inspections in parks, crematoriums, wine shop surroundings, isolated locations, and other problematic areas across the zone.
Officials deployed 38 police teams for the special drive. The teams checked several sensitive locations where public nuisance and anti social activities were frequently reported.
During the operation, police detained one person for consuming ganja. In addition, officers identified 28 people for smoking in public places and took action against 81 people for consuming alcohol openly in public areas.
Police warn against public nuisance activities
Police registered cases against all violators found during the inspections. Officials also conducted counselling sessions and warned them against repeating activities that create inconvenience and disturbance to the public.
According to police officials, the special drive aimed to improve public safety and maintain law and order in residential and public spaces. Authorities said public drinking, smoking, and drug abuse often lead to nuisance, unsafe conditions, and other criminal activities.

The police department stated that similar enforcement drives would continue regularly across the Secunderabad Zone to control anti social activities, including public drinking, smoking, and ganja consumption.
Officials appealed to citizens to cooperate with police and report unlawful activities in their localities. They also urged people to avoid violating public safety regulations and maintain peaceful surroundings in residential areas.
Assistant Commissioners of Police, Station House Officers, and other police personnel from the Secunderabad Zone participated in the operation.
