Hyderabad Police Seize Hash Oil Worth Rs 3.12 Crore In Two Anti-Drug Operations

Hyderabad, July 13: In two separate anti-drug operations, the Hyderabad Task Force and local police seized 24.956 litres of hash oil valued at approximately Rs 3.12 crore, arrested five alleged drug peddlers and detained two consumers in Erragadda and Jubilee Hills on Sunday.

The operations were carried out jointly by Task Force teams and local police as part of the city’s ongoing crackdown on narcotics trafficking.

In the first operation, the Task Force (Jubilee Hills) along with Borabanda Police arrested Lasangi Yakobu alias Venkat and Yendrapalli Suri Babu in Erragadda.

Police seized:

  • 23.706 litres of hash oil
  • Estimated value: Rs 2.96 crore
  • Two mobile phones

According to investigators, Yakobu, an auto driver from Andhra Pradesh, was previously arrested in a marijuana transportation case in 2016 and was also absconding in an NDPS case registered at Borabanda Police Station in 2025.

Police said the accused allegedly sourced the hash oil from suppliers linked to Odisha, transported it to Hyderabad by train, and were waiting to board a bus to Bengaluru to deliver the consignment when they were intercepted.

In the second operation, the Task Force (Secunderabad) and Jubilee Hills Police arrested:

  • B. Chinnayya Padal
  • P. Bharath Kumar
  • Mohd Shoaib

Police also detained two alleged consumers:

  • B. Kalyan Teja
  • T. Uday Kumar

The police seized:

  • 1.250 litres of hash oil
  • 75 small containers
  • One motorcycle

The estimated value of the seized contraband is Rs 16 lakh.

Police said a suspect identified as Lobby, believed to be the main supplier from Odisha, remains absconding.

According to officials, Bharath Kumar and Shoaib allegedly procured hash oil from Chinnayya Padal, repackaged it into small containers and sold it in Hyderabad for substantial profits.

Police added that Bharath Kumar has previous involvement in 18 property-related offences, while Kalyan Teja has an earlier case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Further investigation is underway to identify other members of the drug network and trace the absconding supplier.
