New Delhi, July 13: The National Flag flew at half-mast on Rashtrapati Bhavan and other government buildings in the national capital as India observed one day of national mourning on Monday to honour the passing of Qatar’s former Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
The Government of India announced the observance as a mark of respect following the former Amir’s demise at the age of 74 on Sunday.
As part of the national mourning, the Tricolour was flown at half-mast on government buildings across Delhi, including Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also shared photographs on social media showing the National Flag at half-mast.
The Centre declared a one-day national mourning in honour of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, recognising his contributions and the longstanding ties between India and Qatar.
During the period of mourning, official protocols regarding the display of the National Flag are being observed in accordance with government guidelines.
