Hyderabad Rains: Mayor inspects several low-lying areas of the city

Hyderabad, September 05: Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said that there was no loss of life or property due to taking precautionary measures to prevent any trouble to the residents of the city in the wake of the incessant heavy rains. The Mayor visited several low-lying areas and colonies in the city and reviewed the relief measures for Tuesday’s rains.

On this occasion, the mayor immediately ordered the zonal commissioner as there was a flood under the Fateh Nagar railway under a bridge near Balkampet. Apart from that, the director of this VDM was ordered to immediately send DRF teams to remove the water. From there, the zonal commissioner ordered to visit the flood-prone areas of Ayodhya Nagar and Ganesh Nagar along with MLA Vivekananda and take immediate action.

As the water came into many houses in the colony, they demanded that it be removed immediately through a water pump set, and the officials were ordered to set it up immediately. The authorities immediately set up a de-watering pump to remove the water from the houses and took up the removal measures. After visiting Ganesh Nagar, the mayor assured about the relief measures of the colony residents.

On this occasion, the mayor said that there is no problem for the people in the areas where SNDP has taken up drainage works, in the flood-affected areas of Quthbullapur circle, there is no drainage in the low-lying areas because there is a flood in the low-lying areas. Keeping this in mind that the flood will also come to the colony, the mayor said that steps will be taken to sanction such works through the second phase of SNDP.

On this occasion, Kuthbullapur MLA KP Vivekananda said… In Ayodhya Nagar, those who have their own land will be granted through the Griha Lakshmi scheme because their house is located lower than the CC road.

The mayor alerted the authorities through a set conference

In the wake of heavy rains since early morning on Tuesday, the authorities have been alerted to take precautionary measures to avoid any damage to the city residents. The zonal commissioners were ordered to take action without disrupting traffic in coordination with police and GHMC departments. Measures should be taken to prevent loss of life and property in the low-lying areas. In the wake of heavy rains, the mayor asked the city residents to come out only if there is urgent work. The Mayor asked the residents of the city to be alert as the Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains will continue till tomorrow.

The mayor ordered the zonal commissioners to alert the people of the lower areas of Musi River after the gates of Himayat Sagar and Usman Sagar reservoirs were lifted.
The mayor ordered the officials working at the field level to take immediate action on the complaints received on the helpline.

The mayor inspected the rehabilitation centers

The people living in the low-lying areas of the Musi catchment area were alerted after the gates of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar twin reservoirs were lifted and water was released. The nomads living under the bridges built over the Musi River have been shifted to a rehabilitation center set up in Goshamahal Chudibazar. 42 people belonging to 16 families living under Shivaji Bridge and M.J Bridge were shifted to the rehabilitation center in the morning.

On this occasion, the Mayor asked the victims about the facilities arranged with them. The victims told the mayor that all the facilities in the rehabilitation center were good.

Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner Venkatesh Dotre said that the people living in the low-lying areas of the Musi catchment area have been alerted as the Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains for two days. He said that on the occasion of the release of water from the twin reservoirs, all precautions have been taken to alert the people of the low-lying areas within the zonal area and as part of that, 42 people belonging to 16 families have been moved to the rehabilitation center.
