Illegal Structures Demolished In Gachibowli

Hyderabad, Oct 1 (Maxim News): The illegal construction of the National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) in Gachibowli encroaching on the pond is being demolished.

Ramammakunta pond is spread over an area of 3 acres in Gachibowli Survey Number 71 under Serilingampally mandal. The pond is connected with FTL and covers an area of about 5 acres. NITHM campus is spread around this pond. A few years ago, the management of NITHM took up the construction of a new building in the buffer zone of the pond.

Many voluntary organizations and HRCPC have approached the Court against the construction of the building by filling up the pond. Due to this, the dispute reached the court and the construction of the building stopped in the middle.

A few days ago, after the High Court ordered the demolition of the building, NITHM management started the demolition work on Tuesday. (Maxim News)
