- 23rd Corps Commander-level meeting held at Moldo-Chushul
- Both sides agree to maintain peace along Line of Actual Control
The Indian and Chinese militaries held another round of high-level discussions aimed at ensuring peace and security along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The meeting was part of ongoing efforts between the two sides to manage the border situation and prevent any escalation in the region.
According to a statement released by the Chinese defence ministry on Wednesday, the 23rd round of Corps Commander-level talks took place on October 25 at the Moldo-Chushul border meeting point on the Indian side. The discussions focused on strengthening mutual understanding and managing the situation in the western sector of the China-India border area.
“The two sides engaged in active and in-depth communication on the management of the western section of the China-India border,” the ministry said in an official readout. It described the talks as constructive and aimed at implementing the guidance provided by the leadership of both countries.
There has been no official statement from Indian authorities regarding the details of the meeting. However, the Chinese defence ministry confirmed that both sides reiterated their commitment to maintaining ongoing communication and dialogue, in line with the decisions taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“They agreed to continue communication and dialogue through military and diplomatic channels under the guidance of the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and jointly safeguard peace and tranquillity in the China-India border areas,” the ministry’s statement added.
The talks come amid continuing efforts to stabilize the LAC along eastern Ladakh following past border tensions. Both militaries have previously held multiple rounds of dialogue as part of confidence-building measures to sustain calm in the region and resolve outstanding issues through negotiations.
